Worldwide smartphone shipments grew 37.2% last year, and Apple’s iPhone saw the greatest success – 97.9% year-over-growth in shipments. Besides, Nokia’s shipments also jumped 37.3 percent and Research in Motion saw a spike of 41.2 percent. Based on the data and current situations, analyst Charlie Wolf with Needham & Company pointed out that the smartphone market has turned into a “land grab”.
Okay, I’m not even going to try and explain this, but suffice it to say that IBM and STanford University have come up with a recipe to make green plastic, currently one of the most toxic substance EVER created by man. Here’s a quote from the Cnet post: “In terms of real-world application, the science could lead to plastics becoming endlessly recyclable rather than junk in a landfill.” That sounds pretty good to me! Like many of you out there, we’re gearing up for the SXSW Interactive Festival , which starts tomorrow, March 12 in Austin, TX. In just a few short hours, dozens of Googlers and YouTubers will be descending on Austin for a packed weekend of panels, demos and parties. Of course, we’ve also got a few fun things up our sleeve: Representatives from Google and YouTube will be speaking on more than 20 panels on a variety of subjects, including open source, mobile, real-time communication and user experience design.
